Abstract / Description

People strive to maintain high self-esteem. In the literature, various strategies are described that people employ to enhance or protect their self-esteem. These strategies include, for example, self-affirmation and self-protection strategies. The utilization of these strategies is partly explained by an individual's self-esteem.
