Abstract / Description

The 2 x 2 model of perfectionism by Gaudreau and Thompson (2010) has been used to examine the interactive effects of perfectionism and differences between perfectionism subtypes in the experiences of students. Overall, studies have shown empirical support for the model in differentiating between university students with regards to wellbeing outcomes. However, to date, there are very few studies that test the model longitudinally. The present study therefore sought to examine the interactive effects between perfectionism dimensions in predicting changes in coping and wellbeing outcomes in Filipino university students over time. In doing so, we are able to provide the first longitudinally test of the cultural makeup hypothesis proposed by Franche et al. (2012).
