Zur „ökologischen Intensivierung“ des Lebens – ein Bildungsziel mundanen Weltverstehens und geistigen Lebens

Der Text wurde anlässlich der Schließung des Bildungshauses „Maria Trost“ in Graz verfasst, eine diozesane Bildungseinrichtung, an der der Autor seit 1976 kontinuierlich als Dozent in den Bereichen Altenbildung*, Pflege, Biopsychosoziale Interventionen, Kreativ- und Naturtherapien maßgeblich mitgearbeitet hat. Es wird aus der Perspektive der Integrativen Therapie und Kulturarbeit zum Auftrag und zu den Arbeitsmöglichkeiten und Formen kirchlicher Erwachsenenbildung Stellung genommen unter Bezug auf die Enzyklika von Papst Franziscus „Laudato si‘ “. Kirchliche Bildung muss unbedingt auch den Dialog mit säkularen Menschen suchen, gerade bei den Themen der Ökologie, die die gesamte Lebenswelt betreffen. Sie sind für Christen und Nicht-Christen ein zentrales Anliegen. Es wird das Thema der Untätigkeit, des mangelnden ökologischen Handelns untersucht, der Trägheit. Geistige Trägheit ist ein Phänomen, das schon in der alten Kirche als „Akedie“ (fehlenden Sorge) diskutiert wurde. Gegen diese Akedie muss man ein ökologisches Bewusstsein stellen, eine Intensivierung der Bemühungen um einen ökologiegerechten Lebensstil, der von einem „mundanen“ Verstehen, das heißt einem Begreifen „der Welt als Natur“ getragen ist. Das ist ein neues Bildungsziel, ein wichtiger Inhalt eines modernen „geistigen Lebens“, aus dem dann nachhaltige Aktionen „pro natura“, für die Natur, möglich werden: Öko-Care – ein „Caring for nature and caring for people!“

The text was written on the occasion of the closure of the education center „Maria Trost“ in Graz, a diozesane educational institution where the author has been a regular lecturer since 1976 in the fields of education for the elderly*, care, biopsychosocial interventions, creative and nature therapies. A statement from the perpective of Integrative Therapy and Cultural work is given on the mandate and the possibilities of work and of forms of ecclesiastical adult education with reference to the Encyclica of Pope Francis “Laudato si‘ “. Ecclesiastical education must also seek dialogue with secular people, especially with regard to ecology issues that affect the entire lifeworld. They are a central concern for Christians and Non-Christians. The text examines the theme of inaction, lack of ecological action, inertia. Mental inertia is a phenomenon that has been discussed in the old church as „Akedia“ (lack of concern). Against this Akedie one must place an ecological awareness, an intensification of the efforts for an ecologically correct life style, which is supported by a „mundane“ understanding, that is a comprehension of „the world as nature“. This is a new educational goal, an important content of a modern „spiritual life“, from which sustainable action „pro natura“, for nature, becomes possible: Eco-Care – a „caring for nature and caring for people!“
