Abstract / Description
A blended learning approach to foster information literacy using literature databases of the Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information.
According to funding line (6) of Leibniz projects within the SAW-Competition, the project pursues institutional objectives of the scientific infrastructure facility ZPID. It promotes the use of ZPID’s work results and contributes to a problem-oriented, sustainable transfer of knowledge about the optimization of professional information literacy.
The project aims at the curricular development, experimental evaluation, and implementation of a blended learning intervention to foster students’ professional information search and evaluation skills, focusing the use of ZPID’s scientific databases. Its target groups are students and doctoral candidates of psychology and related scientific disciplines (e.g., Biology, Medicine, Pedagogy, Educational Sciences, Sociology, Political Science).
The training will be adapted differentially to participants’ characteristics, e.g., their levels of information literacy, and their prior knowledge about the domain of psychology in general as well as their knowledge about the topics of specific searches.
