The aim of the study is to investigate whether participants’ self-related trait responses differ depending on the kind of scale they are offered to decide on. With this research the question whether we should actually speak of a bias or a natural tendency should be addressed.

Previous studies have established a solid ground for the existence of the Self-Serving Bias Effect (SSBE). This study wants to explore methodological aspects of the effect in self-judgement tasks, in particular the influence of different assessment aspects like response type or trial time.

Previous studies have established the existence of the ability to judge from different perspectives. Nevertheless it was always questioned in study designs assigning different perspectives, whether participants actually do the mental perspective change. This study wants to explore the process of mental rotation of perspectives as well as its influence on self- and other-judgements.
