Abstract / Description

Mit dem F-E-P kann das Image der Psychologie und ihrer Fachvertreter erhoben werden. Das Instrument ist bei den Psychologen zur Erfassung des Selbstbildes und des vermuteten Fremdbildes einzusetzen sowie bei Nicht-Psychologen zur Erfassung des Fremdbildes. Eine Analyse des Fachimages ist bei Laien und Vertretern anderer Berufsgruppen und Wissenschaftszweige sinnvoll. Ausgangspunkt der Testkonstruktion waren 12 von Hofstätter (1965) eingesetzte Items, die um 36 neu konstruierte Items ergänzt wurden. Der F-E-P besteht aus 32 Items, die als Aussagen formuliert sind und sich auf gängige Vorurteile und Klischees über Psychologen und Psychologiestudierende beziehen. Es wurde eine Stichprobe mit 105 Psychologen und Psychologinnen und 262 Nicht-Psychologen befragt. Die Gütekriterien wurden bislang nicht untersucht. Angeführt werden Mittelwerte und Standardabweichungen einzelner Items.
With the F-E-P, the image of psychology and its professional representatives can be assessed. The measure can be used by psychologists to assess the self-image and the presumed external image as well as by non-psychologists to assess the external image. An analysis of the professional image is useful for laypersons and representatives of other occupational groups and branches of science. Starting point of the test construction were 12 items used by Hofstätter (1965), which were supplemented by 36 newly constructed items. The F-E-P consists of 32 items that are formulated as statements and refer to common prejudices and clichés about psychologists and psychology students. A sample of 105 psychologists and 262 non-psychologists was interviewed. The quality criteria have not yet been examined. The mean values and standard deviations of individual items are cited.
